Allevi, a "stateless" piano which fits no stereotype.
At his starting line was the piano-playing virtuosity of Chopin, Bach, Beethoven and Ravel, then Giovanni Allevi arrived at a genre of music which is hugely expressive, his compositions cannot be compared to jazz, nor pop and not even to contemporary classical music. A no-man's land, from a critical point of view. So who is in a position to judge a "stateless" artist? Whoever's destiny it is to listen to a track from the piano album No Concept, in which the full and the void, sound and silence blend together naturally, amongst playfulness, surges, meditation, in a transversal narration which breaks the mould, although without inciting or experimentalism, as demonstrated by Ossessione. All in all, music which is easy to digest but at the same time of great nobility, energetic in its clarity and always distancing itself from any stereotype.
